We all have those kitchen drawers that we'd rather not talk about. Most refer to at least one of them as a junk drawer, even though in reality, you may have 2 or more "junk drawers". Why not reclaim that space, and get organized in a way that doubles or even triples the amount of stuff you can store in a drawer?
Sorting the silverware
An easy place to start is with your silverware drawer. The forks, spoons, knives, and other oddly sized items that all just sort of lay there, falling over in sections much larger than they need to be. If only those sections were sized for what's in them, you could store so much more in the space. These modular drawer dividers allow you to do exactly that. Sure, it'll take some time to map out what you want in each section, and do some measuring. But trust me, you'll be glad you did. And if you mess up, no big deal because they're modular! You can disconnect and reconnect walls, corners, etc. as many times as you need to. Or change them around as your needs change. Since I did this with our silverware drawer, not only did it help sort things in the drawer, I also had so much room leftover I decided to tackle another issue by moving our food storage bags to this very same drawer.
Where to stash the food storage bags
Food storage bags can be another problem. Many people buy them in bulk, then they shove the box into a drawer. But do you really need 250 food storage bags of the same size in a kitchen drawer? And who loves when they get buried deep in the box, sticking your hand in there fishing for a bag. Hello box cuts! Instead, try printing these storage bag holders. The put plenty of bags in them...maybe 50 or so, and store the rest in a pantry, basement, or other storage room. And with all the space you'll save with your modular drawer dividers, then don't have to take up any additional space in your drawer.
Relaxing tea time, or time to dig through a drawer?
Similarly, we love a cup of some relaxing/sleepy tea before bed. And sometimes green tea during the day. We have a type of tea here for just about every occasion. Mint tea for a headache, lemon tea for a sore throat, chamomile tea to help us sleep...or for just about any other reason, to name a few. But it's no fun going for a cup of relaxing tea when you have to dig through a drawer to find the right box, they try to pry a tea bag out of the box. Instead, just 3D print these tea bag holders. You can print one, or many. You can stack them, or mount them somewhere just as easily. We mounted ours on the side of a cabinet...12 of them, using Command picture hanging strips. Now tea time is actually relaxing. We choose a type of tea, the just pull the tea bag out with some rubber tipped plastic tweezers that we keep tucked in one of the tea bag holders.
